Care Staff

At Claire House we are passionate about providing the best possible care to children and young adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions as well as support for their families, from across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.  We provide symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as family centred specialist short breaks both at the hospice and in the community setting. Our multidisciplinary team also provides physiotherapy, dedicated play, music and holistic therapies, as well as support and counselling for all the family including siblings, as well as individual and group bereavement support.

If you are looking for a role in which you can provide outstanding clinical care and really help make a difference to children, young people and their families, are highly motivated and welcome the opportunity and challenge of working in a multidisciplinary team, we now have opportunities to expand the services we provide to increasing numbers of children and families.


Senior nurses: (£27,000-£31,000) RSCN/RN Child/RN with leadership and proven post registration experience, ideally with experience of working with children/young people with complex, palliative or end of life care needs.

Additional payments are made for working regular weekends and nights. There is also the option of remaining in the NHS superannuation scheme or joining the Claire House pension scheme.

District Retail Manager X 2 – Salary Band £30K-£35K

Claire House Children’s Hospice have 26 high street shops across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales and last year our Retail Division raised over £600,000 in profit to help support the work of the hospice.

We strive to make each and every Claire House shop the best on the high street, creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.  Our aim is to be the leading charity retailer in the North West. We have plans to open more shops every year.

We are looking for a proven senior retail leader, with multi-site experience and a desire to develop themselves in an exciting, forward-thinking and empowering environment. Experience of working in the charity sector is not essential. The successful candidate will have experience in meeting tough targets, ensuring KPI’s are met and running a successful network of shops.

Your role will be to lead, inspire and provide direction for 14 – 18 shops; with a team of District Support Managers, Mobile Managers, Shop Managers, Assistant Shop Managers and hundreds of volunteers. In addition, this senior role will work with all other areas within Claire House such as the Fundraising Department and Care Team to ensure our overall strategy is achieved.

You will be fully accountable for your Profit and Loss in your District; you will source properties; oversee the setup of new shops and recruit the right team. Excellent project management skills and an understanding of what makes a shop successful are essential.

Shop Manager – Prestatyn - £13,000 - £15,500

 As one of our Shop Managers you will have a direct influence on the sales and profit of your shop. You will be responsible for managing a team of volunteers and working with donated and new stock. The successful candidate will have previous supervisory retail experience along with working within the clothing sector
