If this sounds like you, Claire House Children’s Hospice needs you to get in touch. But not in the normal way.
Okay, okay, you still have to fill in an application form, but we also want you to use your considerable powers to tell us why you are the one for this crucially important role. In the next 5 years, we need to reach out to every child with a life-threatening or terminal illness in our catchment area as well as finding the money we need to support them.

CORPORATE FUNDRAISER -  Salary Band: £22,200 - £26,150

Claire House is a local charity with a big heart and we are on a mission!

Within the next 5 years we want to ensure that we are ‘reaching out to every single child who has a life threatening or terminal illness in our catchment area’.  In order to succeed it is vital that we secure the financial support of our corporate community.

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who can inspire confidence and passion whilst at the same time harnessing the potential of the corporate donor.  The successful candidate must have proven ability in strategy development, negotiation and successful senior account management within the charity sector.

You will play a key role in delivering the corporate fundraising strategy, identifying gaps in the market and seeking opportunities from both new and lapsed corporates.  You will have the ability to maximise charitable income from corporate partners and be responsible for identifying prospects, developing relationships and working with senior colleagues or advocates to secure long term support.


The role demands the candidate to be self -motivated , target driven and  understand the importance of being part of a wider team who are all working towards achieving the same mission.

 AREA FUNDRAISER – Starting Salary: £18,600

Are you an energetic fundraiser that could get the whole community fired up to support their local children's hospice? Could you engage schools, groups, clubs and community businesses? Could you help us spread the word about Claire House by doing presentations, talks and helping everyone understand just how important the hospice is?

Care Team Positions


At Claire House we are passionate about providing the best possible care to children and young adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions as well as support for their families, from across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.  We provide symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as family centred specialist short breaks both at the hospice and in the community setting. Our multidisciplinary team also provides physiotherapy, dedicated play, music and holistic therapies, as well as support and counselling for all the family including siblings, as well as individual and group bereavement support.
If you are looking for a role in which you can provide outstanding clinical care and really help make a difference to children, young people and their families, are highly motivated and welcome the opportunity and challenge of working in a multidisciplinary team, we now have opportunities to expand the services we provide to increasing numbers of children and families.
 
 
   

SENIOR NURSES: Salary £25,000-29,450

RSCN/RN Child/RN/RNLD with leadership and proven post registration experience, ideally with experience of working with children/young people with complex, palliative or end of life care needs.

FULL TIME PLAY SPECIALIST: Salary £16,850 - £19,800

We are looking for a committed and experienced Play Specialist to join our dedicated Care and Family Support Teams and work closely with the children, young people and families who use Claire House both in the hospice and community setting.

The post is for a full time Play Specialist, who will be expected as part of a small team, to provide flexible cover over a seven day service, including community visits. NNEB or Hospital Play Specialist qualification or CACHE level2/3 in play work or equivalent is essential for this role. Knowledge and experience of working with children/ young people with health care needs in an educational/ play environment is also essential.

COUNSELLOR 37.5 hrs per week (Maternity Cover) : Salary £23,650 - £27,850

The family support team are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual, to cover for a period of maternity leave, to the role of counsellor based at Claire House.  The main responsibility of the role is to work in collaboration with the family support and play team in providing support to children/young people and their families.  It is essential that candidates have extensive experience of working with children/young people in a supportive environment and have a minimum of a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling qualification.

PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT NURSE:
Full time 37.5 hours (no enhancements)

As the hospice continues to grow from strength to strength, the training and practice development requirements in the hospice are increasing to ensure that we are able to deliver the highest standard of clinical care for children with very complex health care needs.

A fabulous opportunity has now arisen for a dedicated nurse who is passionate about training and delivering the highest standards of clinical practice to join the education and clinical quality team.

This is a full time post working flexibly over 24/7 to best support the care team staff to develop and enhance their clinical skills.
